We are not the fifth generation of a family of winemakers, nor do we have illustrious surnames in the world of wine. We are Pablo and Rosa, and we love the simple things: wine and good food. Together, we have created the first mobile application for booking wine tourism experiences in Spain.
I am Rosa, an art historian by vocation, and I ended up in the world of wine by pure chance. Before this, my only contact with wine was as an archaeologist on a Roman-era farm. Who would have thought! I also participated in a research project on Industrial Heritage with the University of Murcia.
While working in a winery in the Alicante DO, I was fascinated by the social side of wine. Visitors would arrive shy, but after a glass, everything changed! Laughter and conversations intertwined at such a volume that it was impossible to understand each other! That’s what wine means to me: people, stories and places.
I decided to study oenology and attended as many tasting courses as I could. It was clear to me that I wanted to dedicate myself to this. The idea of creating an app for wine tourism reservations took shape in my mind.
This is where Pablo, a passionate entrepreneur from Cádiz, comes in. In his family, both his grandfather and his father were big fans of sherry wine. For them, the glass of fino or amontillado before eating and the ritual of going to the bodega to refill the carafe was the norm.
From the beginning, Pablo encouraged me to make this idea a reality. After one of his excel (it’s Pablo’s vice!), a lot of enthusiasm and a trip to Alsace, we were looking for developers to get down to work. Pablo is in charge of the numbers, which is the part I like the least.
Enolovers.app is our way of contributing to the world of wine. We select wineries and experiences that are really worthwhile, so that anyone, whether an expert or someone who just wants to have a good time, can book without hassle. We love getting to know the people behind each wine and living the experiences first hand.
